Christie was trained and worked as a litigation lawyer in an international law firm in her earlier years of practice.
Christie is a commercial litigator and focuses her practice on construction and engineering matters. She has significant experience in litigation and arbitration as well as various forms of alternative dispute resolution, including mediation. She also has strong non-contentious experience in negotiation and drafting of construction and engineering-related contractual documentation, including EPC contracts, design consultancy agreements, and guarantees and warrantees.
Christie has represented international construction and engineering companies and employers involved in projects throughout Asia, the Middle East, and North Africa. Her recent experience includes the representation of an international construction contractor in a Hong Kong arbitration that resulted in a multimillion dollar award in the client’s favor and the successful mediation in claims against an energy/oil and gas client by a main contractor in a power project in South East Asia.
Christie also advises clients on a variety of commercial disputes, including regulatory, insolvency, and contractual matters.
Christie actively participates in the preparation of seminars and workshops regarding trends and new developments in the construction industry in Hong Kong and mainland China for client workshops and industry seminars.
After joining the firm as partner, Christie has also co-led the Personal Injury Department with our senior partner Mr. Daniel Or, in particular specializing in the construction related injuries. Christie also organizes and holds seminars and workshops for construction related claims and legal developments. She speaks English, Cantonese and Putonghua.
